Sony is finally getting around to releasing their 2 GB Memory Stick Pro Duo ( High - Speed ) cards . They announced these thing back in September of 2004 , and have kicked the firing day of the month back twice . The “ ( High - fastness ) ” in the name indicate the scorecard have a transfer charge per unit of 80Mbps ( 10MB / sec ) , which is far more than you ’ll ever need for anything practical . Sony really needs to do something about this Memory Stick naming scheme , because it ’s getting to be like Street Fighter games . I need n’t cue you this stick is PSP compatible .

( Update:#gizmodoregular a_man_in_black reminds us that the Duo ’s “ High - Speed ” mode is only supported in devices that say so explicitly ( and the PSP does n’t ) , but the Stick will still work on any machine that accept Duo Pros . )
