Dads , AMIRITE ? Last dark on Once Upon a Time in Wonderland , we learned all about Alice ’s Dad and Jafar ’s Dad . But which backstory was the best backstory ? Spoilers in the lead …
It ’s no great surprisal that the homo occupying the other cage in Jafar ’s prison house was his Church Father , the Sultan . We saw that let out come the mo Jafar say “ my father is the Sultan . ” However , we did not expect his Dad to be as full-grown a prick as Jafar .
Not only does he refuse to acknowledge Jafar as his boy , but he lets his “ real ” son slap the ever have a go at it shit out of him ( just for being chic ) . And one great nighttime , the Sultan comes down to Jafar ’s shitty servant - boy quarters and hear to drown him in his own sink water . Harsh . So yeah it ’s no wonder that the Sultan is one of Jafar ’s prisoners . And it also kind of help flesh out why Jafar is such a dick all the time . Daddy issue . I like this reveal — I ’m a little blase of Jafar always being so cold and receive zero weaknesses , but at least his backstory is compelling .
Oh Mustache Dad , what are we going to do with you ? Not much , because he really was n’t in the show that long . rather Jafar tricks Alice ’s Dad into Wonderland , kidnap him , steals his magical identity operator and then make believe to be Alice ’s Dad , all the while undermine their plans to find Cyrus . Trying to pull Alice to utilise up her wishing .
But Alice manages to salve the day sans wishes — but immediately realise this is n’t her Father when he does n’t pray before eating . The older “ pray reveal ” gag . BUT BUT BUT , Alice actually does end up using her 2nd compliments when Jafar express up with her real Dad and throws him off his wing sorcerous carpeting . I ’ll be honest , I was pretty meh on Mustache Dad , until they had their earnest scream academic session . Mustache Dad won back Alice ’s sexual love by admitting he ’s a dunce and restoring her hope of finding Cyrus . Alas , he wo n’t remember any of this — because thanks to Alice ’s compliments he was sent home , but thinks his intact Wonderland head trip was a aspiration . Womp womp .
Overall , I enjoyed the instalment . However , I ’m bug out to believe that Jafar is going about this whole “ force Alice ’s wishes ” thing all wrong . Why not just gather up all the children in Wonderland and throw them all off a drop-off too ? roaring , third wish made ? Or continue turning the Knave of centre to stone , or a bird , or maybe mail him to Australia . Jafar has seemingly interminable magic power — why not use it ? I opine then there would be no show . Oh well .
