Netflixis takingBritney Spearsfans on a road trip back to 2002!

On Monday, the streaming service announced that it’s bringing the movieCrossroads, which marked Spears' first-ever starring role on the big screen, to the streaming service beginning Thursday, Feb. 15.

“The first movie to ever star the one and only Britney Spears has never been available on streaming… but that’s about to change!” Netflix shared onmultiplesocial media platforms. “We’re thrilled to announce thatCrossroadswill finally be available on Netflix — GLOBALLY — starting February 15.”

“With barely a plan, practically no money but plenty of dreams, the girls catch a lift with Mimi’s handsome friend Ben (Anson Mount) in his convertible,” the movie’s official synopsis reads. “Along the way they not only gather experiences that will change their lives, but they also discover how important it is to hold onto their hearts' desires.”

Crossroadsalso starredKim Cattralland Dan Aykroyd as Spears' parents, as well asJamie Lynn Spearsas a younger version of Britney’s character Lucy.Justin Longalso appears as one of the group’s classmates.

Spears, now 42, wrote about her experience filming the movie in her 2023 memoirThe Woman in Me. In an excerpt shared with PEOPLE in October, she wrote that “the experience wasn’t easy for me.”

“I think I started Method acting — only I didn’t know how to break out of my character. I really became this other person. Some people do Method acting, but they’re usuallyaware of the fact that they’re doing it,” she wrote in the book. “But I didn’t have any separation at all.”

“I ended up walking differently, carrying myself differently, talking differently,” she added in the book. “I was someone else for months while I filmedCrossroads. Still to this day, I bet the girls I shot that movie with think,She’s a little…quirky.If they thought that, they were right.”
