In a recent audience withTotal Film(viaGames Radar ) , David Gordon Green support the upcoming Exorcist movie at Blumhouse is a subsequence to the 1973 original but The Heretic , Legion , The Beginning or Dominion “ can all fall into [ an ] acceptable mythology . ”

The Exorcist has been written . That was one of my pandemic project . It ’s not inaccurate [ that it will be a sequel to the original film ] . I care all the Exorcist movie . And not only do I like them , I recollect they can all fall into the satisfactory mythology for what I ’m doing . It ’s not like I ’m say , ‘ profess that The Exorcist 2 never come about . ’ That ’s o.k. to exist . They ’re all ok to exist , and I savour all of them .

We have designs … [ McFarlane ] came in , and he sound out , ‘ await , we ’re doing this thing , and it ’s locomote to be low budget , and it ’s kind of down and dirty . And I require it to feel more like the animated show , where it ’s like Spawn meets David Fincher . He wanted to do this kind of gritty down and ill-gotten thing . And so , we did a slew of concept work here . We did a lot of design busts and a lot of really , really cool poppycock . And then it kind of stall .

Every once in a while , I ’ll reach out and go , ‘ Hey . ’ I ’ll look at the bust in my part and be like , ‘ Hey , Todd , what ’s going on with this ? Are we ever blend to make this ? ’ Because I ’m really in love with the pattern body of work we did .

He ’s a character that Kurt [ Russell ] is passionately fond of . He convert me to do the sequel . There ’s credibly a third or maybe even fourth story about Snake . I do n’t know if we ’ll ever make it , but I guess that he deserves it .
