Caleb Harris, Missing Texas A&M Student Who Disappeared ‘Without a Clue’

The search for amissing 21-year-old college student in Texashas intensified as his family continues to speak out about his disappearance.

Harris hasn’t been seen since just before 3 a.m. local time outside his apartment complex, The Cottages, on North Padre Island,NBC affiliate WOAIreported.

The search has reportedly expanded to the east and south parts of North Padre, including spots behind the apartment complex.

His family toldFox Newsthat they got “different Snapchats” from Harris until about 2:45 a.m., but then he decided to take him and his roommate’s dog out for a walk.

Then, just before 3 a.m., he went outside to pick up his Uber Eats order after leaving his dog inside the apartment. His order was marked as completed, his dad Randy told Fox News Digital, but the 21-year-old “vanished.”

Randy noted thatWOAIinvestigators looked into the Uber Eats driver but determined she wasn’t involved.

Uber told PEOPLE that Caleb’s order was completed without any reported incident and that the delivery person continued to make additional deliveries that morning. They also noted that they’ve reached out to law enforcement to offer assistance, and are deferring to them for any additional details about the investigation.

“There’s no evidence of wrongdoing, but there’s no evidence at all,” his dad told Fox News. “And so it’s a matter of looking at every inch, everything we could possibly think of.”

“It is a mystery,” he added.

AGoFundMe fundraiserto “help pay for the resources needed” to bring Harris home has raised over $50,000 as of Wednesday afternoon.

Hundreds of volunteers and the U.S. Coast Guard are now taking part in the search, according to WOAI.

Police told PEOPLE Wednesday that there have been no updates, but they confirmed they are working with multiple agencies to conduct the search. It remains an active and open investigation, the department adds.

A Texas A&M Corpus Christi representative told PEOPLE, “On Thursday, March 7, the Island University held a gathering in the university’s Hector P. Garcia Plaza to support Caleb’s family, friends and classmates.”

The school also noted, “Caleb is a freshman environmental science major. His permanent address is listed as New Braunfels, Texas.”

“We urge anyone with information on Caleb’s whereabouts to contact CCPD at 361.886.2840 or 361.886.2600; or the University Police Department at 361.825.4444,” their statement continued. “TAMU-CC remains hopeful for Caleb’s safe return.”
